Basil herb- Italian symbol of love


Basil (Basilico) is called the king of Italian herb. Though it has different varieties, the sweet is likely to be found very easily in shops. It contains large and aromatic leaves. In addition, cooking with basil is superbly satisfying especially if you grew it yourself.

Being a member of the mint family, the bushy and small plant grows up to two feet tall. It has rich spicy scent, which relieves headaches, refresh the mind, and elevate moods. It contains calcium, iron, potassium and Vitamin C, all of which helps incalculably to one’s health. But perhaps most of all it is a versatile and wonderful culinary herb.

Best known for pesto, the fresh basil works extremely well with tomato, zucchini, pasta, rice, and eggplant. The oil from the leaf of fresh basil is distilled and proves hugely helpful for stomach aches in herbal medicine, but when u add to your cooking, the taste of your food is tasted well.

Basil has become a symbol of love for the Italians now. It is a vital seasoning in Italian cuisine as well. Cooking with basil boasts of inducing feelings of passion, love, mental clarity and harmony into your life. That is why; it is called as the herb of kings, and is most liked by most of the cooks worldwide.
