Effective use of Garlic at Home

Garlic is a common item in Indian foods. It is very popular in Indian kitchens. It is used as taste enhancer in food items and drinks like tea and even in beverages. This kitchen item is a potential herb and can be used effectively in various common ailments. In India it is produced in plenty.

It can be used as a weapon against common colds, sore throats, mild fevers. This herb is enriched with anti viral and anti bacterial components that are effective against common ailments.

The irritation on throat is common in cases of viral fevers and common colds. In this time a cup of warm tea with ginger and little amount of honey could relieve of the sore throat. This will also enhance voice clarity. It also keeps signs of flue and common cold at bay. In any cold related problems it could be used effectively.

It could also relieve children from ear infections which they suffer quite often. In ear infection garlic oil can be used. It is very easy to prepare garlic oil. But use of garlic is not always advisable as it is very strong in nature.

To prepare garlic oil, a few drops of garlic need to be added with olive oil and let it be in normal temperature for few days. When components mixed well with each other, it gives an aromatic smell. This could be used for long by preserving in refrigerator. Before using one should heat the oil.

Garlic can also be used fighting skin diseases and fungal infections, but beware of using it directly on skin. A cup of water soaked with a clove of garlic can be used to wash face. It is effective in acne cleaning. Garlic mixed water can wash vaginal infections.

Consumption of garlic also controls blood pressure, cholesterol and prevents heart related diseases.
